What Our Parents Say...

“I would definitely recommend Woodrow Preschool to any parent looking for a preschool for his/her child.  Claire has been there for two years and she loves it.  She looks forward to her days at school, and it’s amazing how far she has come since she first started.  When she comes home, she tells me all about what she has learned, and about all the fun things she did that day.  The teachers/staff are wonderful, and treat both the parents and kids with warmth and respect.  They are committed to making sure that the kids are learning everything they need to know to take the next step to kindergarten.  As working parents, it is reassuring to my husband and me to know that Claire is spending her time at Woodrow Preschool happy, having fun, and learning new things.”

- Julia Steingass (Claire Age 5 and Emma Grade 2 in before/after school care)

“For the past 4 years I have really appreciated Sylvania Community Services Child Care.  For any situation that arises, their response is always “We have a plan for that”.  The children are always safe and there are plenty of original and enriching activities.  The teachers are caring and creative.  There seems to be low turnover in staff which leads to a stable environment.  My children look forward to going each day.  I would highly recommend them to anyone needing child care.”

- Melissa Dubiel (David Grade 2, and Julia Age 5)

“The staff is always courteous and pleasant.  Our children love to attend E.T. (Extended Time) after school.  ET is really helpful during snow days and late start days so that my wife and I can get to work.  Brooke likes to play games like store (using cash register and fake food), and doing arts & crafts, and coloring.  Jason enjoys going to the gym and outside to play basketball.  The children have met new people and made new friends in ET.”

- Jason R. Johnson (Brooke Grade 1, and Jason Grade 5)

“My 4 year old has been attending Woodrow since 2 ½ years old.  The other (former) childcare service we used closed unexpectedly and the staff at Sylvania Community Services petitioned the state and was able to have a spot created for my 2 ½ year old within two weeks time.  It was unbelievable how quickly she made the transition!!  The staff does whatever possible to enhance the preschool experience for both the child and the child’s family.  You can’t ask for a better environment for your children!”

- Stephanie Batey (Ansley Age 4, Austin Grade 3 and Kylee Grade 5 in before/after school care)

“I like the convenience of having the program right at the school.  The staff is all very friendly toward the parents and children.  And I feel confident in the care my daughter receives while she is at the program.  My daughter also prefers to be there in the morning E.T. (Extended Time) program versus having a family member watch her in the morning and get her on the bus.  She says she has fun.  The fact that she enjoys it makes me even more confident that the program is a good choice for me/us.”

- Chris Menard (Alexa, Grade 3)

“Emma has been in the SCS Program since she was four years old (at SCS Preschool).  She is currently in the E.T. (Extended Time) program after school, and some times before school.  The staff is very friendly, and they are very conscientious.  They are committed to making certain that the kids are safe and having fun.  Being a working parent is tough, and it is comforting to know that Emma is happy and being taken care of while I am at work.”

- Julia Steingass (Emma, Grade 2 and Claire Age 5 at SCS
Preschool)

“The E.T. (Extended Time) service has been a very positive experience for our family.  We have used both morning and afternoon ET service.  The staff is very friendly and our son enjoys the variety of activities available at ET (games, art, puzzles, playground activities, etc.)  He has also made many friends.”

- Chris Snyder (Alex, Grade K)
